Santa Eulalia (sahn-tah eh-oo-LAH-lee-ah) is a traditional neighbourhood in central Murcia. The tapas here are simple, cheap, and authentic. You won't find fancy fusion food, just good local cooking.
The Tapas Scene
Santa Eulalia is a working-class neighbourhood with a daily market. The tapas bars are mostly family-run, some have been here for generations.
The atmosphere is loud, friendly, and local. People stand at the bar, chat with the staff, and often know each other. It's not quiet or romantic - it's where you go to eat well and feel the city's pulse.
Prices are low. Most tapas cost 2-4 euros. A beer (caña) is around 1.50-2 euros. You can eat and drink well for under 15 euros per person.

Local Tips
Lunchtime (1-3pm) is busiest and has the best atmosphere. Evenings (8-10pm) are quieter but still lively. Most places close around midnight. Avoid Sunday evenings - many bars are closed.
Stand at the bar, don't wait for a table. Order a drink first, then ask for tapas. Say "una caña" for a small beer. Many places give a free tapa with your first drink - it's not automatic, so ask "¿tapa incluida?" (tah-pah in-kloo-EE-dah).
Most bars in Santa Eulalia only accept cash. Bring euros with you. There's an ATM at the market if you forget.
