Forget tiny snacks. Here, a tapa often comes free with your drink, and it's enough for a light meal. Order a caña (small beer) and see what you get.
The Tapas Scene
Lorca's tapas scene is all about value and tradition. This isn't fancy gastronomy – it's honest, filling food in busy bars where locals chat over cañas.
Most bars are in the historic centre, around Calle Corredera and Plaza de España. You'll find family-run places that haven't changed in decades, with simple decor and a loud, friendly atmosphere.
Prices are low. A drink (€1.50-€2.50) usually includes a free tapa. If you order extra tapas, they cost €2-€4 each. Cash is king in many spots.

Local Tips
Locals eat tapas from 8pm onwards. Before 7pm, bars are quiet. Friday and Saturday nights are busiest.
In most bars, your first drink comes with a free tapa. You don't choose it – they give you the house special. Order a second drink to try something else.
Lorca gets very hot in summer. Many bars don't have strong AC. Evenings are better, but still warm. Drink plenty of water.
