This isn't fancy food. It's traditional Murcian cooking served in generous portions, often with a free tapa when you order a drink. Expect migas (fried breadcrumbs with meat), stews, and local wines.
The Tapas Scene
Fortuna (for-TOO-nah) is a small town known for its Roman baths and hot springs. The tapas scene reflects that: relaxed, local, and focused on comfort food.
Most bars are clustered around the main square, Plaza de la Constitucion, and along Calle Mayor. You'll find a mix of older spots with tile floors and wooden barrels, and a few newer places with terraces.
The atmosphere is casual. It's where locals go after work or on weekends. Don't expect loud music or trendy decor – just good conversation and solid food.
Prices are reasonable. A drink (beer or wine) with a free tapa costs €2-€4. If you order raciones (larger plates to share), expect €5-€12. Cash is king in many places.

Local Tips
The tapas scene here is an evening thing. Bars get busy from 8pm onwards. Lunchtime is quieter – many places close in the afternoon.
Many bars have a daily special tapa that comes free with a drink. Just ask "¿Cuál es la tapa del día?" (What's the tapa of the day?). It's often the best thing they're serving.
Some of the older bars don't take cards. Have euros with you, especially if you're going to the more traditional places.
