Detailed answer

Murcia airport is actually in Corvera, about 45 km southeast of Murcia city. It's not close, and there's no train station at the airport. Don't expect a metro or tram either – this isn't Madrid.

The taxi rank is right outside arrivals. A trip to Murcia city centre takes about 30 minutes and costs €40-50 depending on traffic and exact destination. It's a fixed price, so agree on it before you get in. Taxis here are white with a yellow stripe.

If you're on a budget, take the bus. Line 73 runs from the airport to Murcia's bus station (Estación de Autobuses de Murcia). It takes about an hour and costs €5. Buses run roughly every 1-2 hours, but check the schedule – service is limited in the evenings and on Sundays.

Renting a car is an option if you're planning to explore the region. All major rental companies have desks at the airport. Driving to Murcia takes 30-40 minutes via the RM-1 and A-30 motorways. Parking in the city centre can be tricky and expensive.

Additional information

The airport bus drops you at Murcia's main bus station, which is about a 20-minute walk from the cathedral. From there, you can take a local bus or taxi to your final destination. The bus station has luggage storage if you need it.

If you're staying outside the historic centre, tell the taxi driver your exact address. Murcia has several neighbourhoods, and "centro" might mean different things to different people.

Murcia's main bus station where the airport bus arrives. Has ticket offices, a café, and luggage storage. Located just outside the historic centre.

For groups of 3-4 people, a taxi often works out cheaper per person than the bus. Split the fare and you're looking at €10-15 each for door-to-door service.

Practical tips

💡
Check bus times in advance

The airport bus schedule changes seasonally. Look up Line 73 times on the Transportes de Murcia website before you travel, especially if arriving late or on a weekend.

⚠️
No Uber or Bolt

Ride-sharing apps don't operate at Murcia airport. Your only taxi option is the official white taxis at the rank. They accept cash and most cards.

📍
Which airport?

Some flights land at Alicante airport instead. That's 80 km away – a different journey entirely. Check your ticket to confirm you're flying into Murcia-Corvera (RMU).
